Our Story

Life is not a solo act...it is a collaboration. So when Kathleen  Hope and Troy Axelrod came together, they embraced this shared philosophy. 

Both of them have a unique set of skills and vision...  Kathleen in her use of pigmented cement and Troy with his  3D compositions.  

Their art maintains a balance between cooperation and independence. They both have similar design sensibilities and gravitate toward more industrial construction materials.  These shared interests and compatibilities organically grew into an art partnership.  

Kathleen has an educational background in Color  Psychology and Physiological Effects, with training in architectural coloration. She has been working as a full-time artist for over 25 years.  

Troy has a degree in Architecture and has been in the profession for over 30 years. He has a strong design background and excels in the details...pairing raw materials with simple forms.  

Hope and Axelrod design together with honesty, respect, and intuition. This mixture of minds between two highly skilled artisans creates sophisticated geometric forms with a  textured cementitious finish.  

Troy tends to simplify, while Kathleen likes to embellish.  Somewhere in the middle, they strike a balance and the collaboration begins. They help each other develop new skills and stretch creativity in ways that working alone may not.
